We begin our adventure with an early morning departure for the Mabamba Swamp, a tranquil Ramsar wetland on the fringes of Lake Victoria. Upon arrival, we’ll board traditional wooden canoes to navigate the narrow papyrus channels, where our expert local guides will help us track the prehistoric and elusive Shoebill Stork.
As we glide quietly through the reeds, we’ll also keep an eye out for other vibrant wetland specialists like the Malachite Kingfisher, African Jacana, and the rare Sitatunga antelope. After our immersive birding excursion, we’ll head back to the mainland to enjoy a hearty lunch featuring local Ugandan flavors before returning to Entebbe.
