This tour combines the best attractions in East Africa. From chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest, a close up experience with rhinos in Ziwa Sanctuary, Uganda to Maasai Mara which hosts the world famous wildebeest migration. Across to Tanzania for a sunset cruise on Jinja Nile and finish the trip with a once in a life time gorilla tracking experience. This tour offers a one-of-a-kind experience to capture East Africa’s major highlights.
Upon arrival at the airport, a Kibo Slopes Safaris driver/guide will be waiting for us and we may choose to have a city tour of Nairobi or head on to our hotel.

We take an early breakfast and start off the day’s adventures at 7.00 am with a drive to the Lake Nakuru National Park. Game drives here reveal the abundant birds and wildlife. Most pronounced are the flamingoes on the lake shores. Nakuru is also a Rhino Sanctuary with a population of over 100 white and black rhinos. The fenced park hosts all the Big Five except elephants. From the baboon cliff we have a good view over the whole park and Nakuru town in the backdrop. We return to the Lodge for a late lunch and a relaxing afternoon. Dinner and overnight will be at Lake Nakuru Sopa Resort.

After an early morning breakfast we start a drive towards Mara Game reserve to arrive in time for hot lunch with brief game drives enroute to Mara Ashnil Camp.

We have breakfast before a full day at the Mara Game Reserve with lunchboxes or hot lunch back at the camp. In between the morning and evening game drives we may opt to visit a Maasai Village where we get an idea of the daily life of the local community. Overnight will again be the Mara Ashnil Camp.

To the North we start our journey with a lunch stop in Migori towards the Island of Rusinga in Lake Victoria; mild climate making activities pleasurable and viable. Activities to choose from are fishing, birding, visiting the local communities. Dinner and overnight will be at Rusinga Island Lodge.

Ferry to Bondo pick up at the border with our Kibo Uganda representative and drive to Jinja check in at the hotel and wait on a sunset cruise on the Nile. Nothing beats an African sunset especially right on the Nile with an ice cold drink and snack. Make sure to have a camera with you to capture the moment

Drive to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for Rhino tracking, the sanctuary is the only place in Uganda where you can view the endangered species in their natural habitat. The plan is to reintroduce the rhinos into the wild after the numbers increase. On arrival we will be briefed before taking the Rhino trek. We are given an hour to track and spend with them. On the walk, we may also encounter some animals including duikers, waterbucks and more. We return to the lodge for lunch. Dine and overnight Amuka Lodge

We have an early breakfast then check out and start our journey to Murchison Falls National Park. The drive to the beautiful Murchison falls NP offers great scenery arriving at the lodge check-in arriving in time for lunch. In the afternoon we enjoy a game drive which will give great opportunity of seeing elephants, giraffes, hippos and a wide range of birdlife. Dine and overnight Pakuba Safari Lodge

Today we take a game drive on the northern bank of the Nile, with chances of seeing lots of wildlife in search for food. We may spot giraffes, elephants, lions, hartebeest and different species of birds. We return for a mid-morning breakfast (if not taken before), then relax at the lodge enjoying its facilities.
In the afternoon we will take a Boat Cruise on the Nile to the bottom of the fall. This offers close views of the Nile Crocodiles, Hippos and so many birds. Great views of other wildlife over land can be rewarding as well. At the bottom of the falls, we board off the boat and hike up to the top which is another chance to view the Top of the fall. From here our driver will meet us and drive us back to the Lodge

After breakfast, we drive to Kibale National Park, passing many tea plantations along the way. We will stop over for lunch at Miika Eco Lodge. If time allows we can have a stop at one of the Tea plantations and interact with the pickers. Dine and overnight Kluges Guest Farm

After an early breakfast we take on a Chimpanzee tracking adventure in Kibale Forest for a half day experience. As we search for the residents we might also come across other primates such as grey-cheeked mangabey monkeys, I’Hoest’s, red colobus, red-tailed and blue monkeys. The guide will share more while on the trek ensuring the trail is both informative and enjoyable. After this adventure, we proceed to drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park , the 2nd largest park in the country and located at the base of the Rwenzori Mountain range next to Lake Edward and Lake George which are joined by the Kazinga Channel. Dine and overnight at Ihamba Lakeside Safari Lodge.

Today we have a whole day of activities starting with a game drive where we sill spot lions, and over 500 bird species. These include the 11 different species of kingfisher, eagles, the black bee-eater. We will also visit the Explosion Craters situated north of the magnificent Mweya Peninsular, these are extinct craters although a few release sulphurous smells. A boat cruise on Kazinga channel will be another highlight taking about 2hours on the water, where we will see buffalos and elephants on the banks. After the cruise we will drive to the Ishasha sector for dinner and overnight Ishasha Jungle Lodge.

This day opens up so many opportunities for game lovers. Breakfast early then head into the jungle to search for animals including the tree climbing lions, Elephants, herds of Buffaloes and much more. This park is also a birders paradise rewarding guests with so many rare species. Lunch at Lodge and afternoon game drives to increase your chances of spotting wildlife. After breakfast we head out and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. On our way we shall have great views of the terraced hills of Kabale also called the Switzerland of Africa. Bwindi national park is home to the endangered mountain gorillas. This fascinating mountain forest hosts chimpanzees and spectacular birds. There are 23 of the 24 Albertine rift endemic bird species including blue-throated broadbill, bar-tailed trogon and other beautiful forest species that call this forest home. Dinner and overnight at Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla lodge.

After an early breakfast, we proceed to the visitor’s reception for a briefing where we will be separated into groups basing on which Gorilla trekking group we will be tracking. Then the guide will lead us through the gorilla paths in the thick Bwindi Impenetrable rain forests searching for the giant mountain Gorillas. The trek takes 2-8 hours depending on where we find the Mountain Gorillas. And we find them, we will be given an hour to view these beautiful primates.

Today we check out and drive to Ruhengeri the most popular touristic city and the gateway to the Volcanoes. The city has got so many restaurants and hotels seen along the way. We will visit the Ellen DeGeneres Gorilla Campus which was built in memory of renowned Conservationist Dian Fossey. Here we get to learn about the endangered species and the conservation efforts being taken. We will have lunch on the way as we drive to our hotel for dinner and overnight at Five Volcanoes Boutique hotel.

After breakfast we will drive to Volcanoes National Park headquarters for a short a briefing and start the caves adventure. They were formed as a results of volcanic eruption and were used as shelter during war. After lunch we drive to Kigali for overnight stay.

After breakfast we embark on a tour of Kigali which is ranked as the cleanest city in Africa. During this tour we will visit historical places like, the Genocide memorial to have a better understanding the tragedy that happened in 1994, continue the tour through the old and new Kigali takes us to cultural and pass through Nyamirambo, the most vibrant area in Kigali. We have lunch here and after visit the liberation Museum where we will have the opportunity of learning and what led up the genocide. We will have a chance of visiting one of the famous artistic area called Inema arts center.
We go back to Sheba Hotel to refresh and relax before our rooftop dinner in the evening as we enjoy the view of Kigali at night at the rooftop of Ubumwe Grand Hotel few meters from Scheba hotel, then an overnight at Scheba Hotel
