This safari focusses on the culture of the different ethnic groups in Northern Tanzania. We start with the agrarian Chagga community on the fertile slopes of Kilimanjaro, visit the Hadzabi, arguably the oldest community in the area and related to the bushman in South Africa, and the pastoralist communities of the Datoga and Massai in the semi-arid plains in northern Tanzania. Besides the cultural aspect, the tour includes game drives in the most renown parks such as Ngorongoro and Manyara.
After arrival at JRO, we meet our driver guide who will pick us up and transfer us to Sal Salinero in Moshi for dinner and overnight and a short briefing on our safari.

We witness a thrilling sunrise hunt to see just how these hardy people have survived in the sometimes harsh Tanzanian wilderness for thousands of years. After lunch we visit a pastoralist ethnic group- the Datoga. They claim to be after the Hadzabi, the oldest group who have settled in the area origination from Ethiopia. Hippos are found in the permanent fresh water pools and the swamps in the crater.
