This short Rwanda safari combines meaningful history with classic savannah wildlife. We begin with a brief Kigali city tour, including a visit to the Genocide Memorial, offering important context to Rwanda’s remarkable journey of resilience and renewal. By mid-morning, we depart for Akagera National Park (approx. 2.5–3 hours), enjoying scenic countryside views along the way. A lunch stop at the Imigongo Art Center introduces us to traditional Rwandan craftsmanship before continuing to Akagera Rhino Lodge for the evening.
The following day is dedicated to exploring Akagera’s diverse landscapes — open plains, rolling hills, lakes, and wetlands — on extended game drives with a packed lunch. The park is home to the Big Five, including lions and rhinos, as well as giraffes, elephants, and abundant birdlife. In the afternoon, we exit through the North Gate around 3:00 pm and return to Kigali, concluding a well-balanced blend of culture, history, and wildlife.
