Overview

We begin our adventure on Day 1 with a morning pickup, driving toward the Great Rift Valley to reach Lake Manyara National Park. Upon arrival, we’ll dive into a full day of game drives, navigating through the park’s famous groundwater forest where large troops of baboons play and the elusive tree-climbing lions occasionally rest in the ancient mahogany trees. We’ll break for a picnic lunch within the park before continuing toward the alkaline lake shores to witness thousands of pink flamingos and pods of hippos, eventually winding our way up the escarpment to Karatu for our overnight stay.

On Day 2, we’ll set out early for the Ngorongoro Crater, descending 600 meters into this massive, collapsed caldera for a high-intensity wildlife tour. With our packed lunch on board, we’ll traverse the crater floor to track the “Big Five,” including the rare black rhino, while surrounded by the densest concentration of lions and hyenas in Africa, before finally making our return journey to Arusha.
