After an early breakfast we embark on morning game drive in the Conservancy. Ol Pejeta Conservancy is home to the Big 5 (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino).  It is also the home of the Northern White Rhinos which are critically endangered with only two left in the world and the southern white rhinos.

After our lunch at the lodge, we drive to Samburu arriving in the evening for check in at our lodge for the night.

We have breakfast before a full day at the Samburu National Reserve. In between the morning and evening game drives we may opt to visit a Samburu Village where we get an idea of the daily life of the local community. Samburu is rich in wildlife with the unique and rare Grevy zebras and reticulated giraffes sure to be spotted mingling with Somali ostriches, elephants, and buffaloes. Lunch, dinner, and overnight will again be the lodge.

Today we leave Samburu and drive back past the shadows of Mount Kenya and the Nyahururu Thomson falls where we can have a photo stop and lunch break. We then proceed with the drive down the Rift Valley escarpment to Lake Elementaita. Dinner and overnight at Sunbird Elementaita Lodge.

We take an early breakfast and start off the day’s adventures at 7.00 am with a drive to the Lake Nakuru National Park. Game drives here will reveal the abundant birds and wildlife. The flamingoes are the most prominent on the lake shores. Nakuru is also a Rhino Sanctuary with a population of over 100 white and black rhinos plus the fenced park hosts all the Big Five except Elephants. We shall enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic viewpoint with sights over the whole park and the Nakuru town in the backdrop. In the late afternoon we drive back for dinner and overnight at the Sunbird Elementaita Lodge.

Today we drive on the Rift Valley floor to Narok, a colorful Maasai township before arriving at the Mara where we check in the Mara Sweet Acacia Camp before lunch. After a short rest we embark on our first evening game drive in the vast game reserve, classified as one of the “Wonders of the World”. The Mara is an extension of the Serengeti in Tanzania and all the “Big Five” are found here. With some luck we may already see some of them today. We return to the lodge at sunset for dinner and overnight.

This day we can either decide to spend doing a full day game drive with packed lunch boxes or have an early morning and evening game drive with lunch at the lodge. Whatever we plan with our driver the evening before it will still be beyond our expectations. The wealth of wildlife at the Maasai is unrivalled in Africa, particularly during the migration of wildebeests from July to October. All meals and overnight will again be at Mara Sweet Acacia Lodge.

After our final breakfast in the Maasai Mara, we do our last game drive en-route out of the Mara to Naivasha. After lunch at the lodge, we’ll go on a boat ride on Lake Naivasha. This will take us up close with the hippos in the water and we will be able to watch them at a close point as they rest among the reeds. There are also hundreds of birds to see in the lake including the famous fish eagle and the cormorants. The shores of the lake are littered with wildlife including buffalos, zebras, giraffes among others.

Today we drive back to Nairobi for activities within the city. We will start with a visit to the David Sheldric’s Elephant Orphanage. The Sheldric Orphanage offers safe haven to orphaned baby elephants rescued from parks and reserves in Kenya.  We will have a coffee garden lunch before proceeding to the Giraffe center where we’ll come up close with giraffes and maybe feed them.

After breakfast, our driver will transfer us to the airport for departure marking the end of our Classic Kenya Safari!
