The Majlis is a privately owned resort set on Manda Island in the Lamu archipelago off Kenya’s north coast. Twenty-five large air-conditioned suites of varying sizes are accommodated in three villas, each suite with a private veranda and access to the glittering white beach. Carved, studded doors open to cool white interiors, with high ceilings and large windows, hand-crafted timber furnishings and traditional bleached coral walls.
