Trekker:

At 4.00 am after a light breakfast we continue our climb towards the Austrian Hut where we stop for a short break before ascending the 3rd highest peak – Point Lenana – via the edge of the Lewis Glacier. The route can be quite slippery because of the ice covered rocks.  At some points ropes to hold on to have been fitted.  At sunrise we are on Point Lenana and enjoy the magnificient view over the palins from there.  Finally we descend through the Simba Cole to Shiptons camp for lunch, rest and overnight.

Climber:

Today you may want to ascend the second peak before returning to the Austrian hut. The descend is quite fast because of the long abseiling passages.  If you had already returned to Austrian Hut the previous day you can join the trekkers in ascending point Lenana.

If the weather the previous day was bad, you can use this day to ascend Batian and descend to Shiptons camp.

Whatever the program of the day was, in the evening over dinner trekkers and climbers can share their experiences at the Shiptons Camp.
