Overview
This tour offers you a hike in the lush and serene mountain environment with encounters of a variety of wildlife such as buffalo, giraffe, dik-dik, monkeys etc. We will also be accompanied with stunning views over the Kilimanjaro in the east.
Tour Plan
We are picked up early in the morning at 6.00am from our hotel in Moshi or Arusha and proceed to Mommela Park gate (1550m) for registration. Here we meet our guide, ranger and porter. After briefing we proceed with for 4 to 5 hours hike to Mariakamba hut ( 2550). We pass through open grassland which will give us a good opportunity to see buffaloes, warthogs and other grazers.
After crossing the Ngare Nanyuki River we continue climbing through mountain forest. There we have chance to see many different kinds of birds and black and white colobus monkeys. Finally, we will reach Miriakamba Hut where we have a picnic lunch and some rest then descend back to Momella Gate where our driver picks us and takes us back to our hotel.
