Explore the Parks in the South of Tanzania for amazing wildlife viewing. Start with the floodplains of Mikata in Mikumi National Park to capture unique bird-species such as the lilac breasted roller and large herds of buffaloes. The less-crowded Selous Game reserve is the perfect place to spot large populations of wild dogs, elephants, hippos and crocodiles.
Upon arrival at the airport in Dar es Salaam, we will be met by our safari guide and transferred to Sea Cliff Hotel for a pre-Safari briefing before dinner and overnight.

After breakfast we drive to the Mikumi National Park, a 4 to 5-hour drive from Dar es Salaam. We just arrive in time for lunch. After lunch we explore the expansive park. The park, established in 1964, currently covers an area of 3230 km² and is the fourth largest in the country. It is home to a wide variety of wildlife and over 400 bird species. Mikumi is part of the Selous ecosystem and consists of plain surrounded by mountains with the Ulugurus and Udzungwas to the south east and north east and the Ruhumero Mountains to the west. Dinner and overnight at Vuma Hills.

Today is dedicated to explore the expansive Mikumi National Park with morning and afternoon game drives. Chances of seeing Elephants, Giraffes, Zebras, Wildebeests, Buffaloes, Lions, Impalas and several species of antelopes are high. The Mkata Floodplain is perhaps the most reliable place in Tanzania to see for the powerful eland, the world’s largest antelope, the equally impressive Greater Kudu and Sable Antelope. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the Lodge/camp.

After breakfast, embark on one last gamedrive in Mikumi and head back to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, we leave the lodge and drive to Iringa for an overnight stay at Mt Royal Hotel.

After breakfast we drive to Ruaha National Park with a stop at our lodge for the day for lunch. Ruaha is one of Tanzania’s best kept secrets. We have a late afternoon game drive in Ruaha National Park and head back to our lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Ruaha is a 10,300sq.km conservancy, the second largest in Tanzania. The great Ruaha River flows along its entire eastern border creating spectacular gorges and scenery featuring a large number of hippos and crocodiles. It is also a leading elephant sanctuary. With morning and afternoon game drives we explore the vast park. Besides numerous predators and herds of Elephants, other animals in the park include Greater and Lesser Kudu, Roan and Sable Antelope. The remoteness of Ruaha gives you the perfect impression of a real safari in wild.

After breakfast we depart with packed lunch for Udzungwa Mountain National Park. It is a 6-hour long drive and we arrive in the early afternoon. On arrival we go for mountain hiking with amazing sights in the forest including waterfalls, birds, primates, butterflies, bush-buck, dik-dik, baboons and monkeys. Later in the afternoon we drive to Udzungwa Falls Lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast we prepare for another long drive to Selous National Park with packed lunch. Depending on the weather and road conditions we can use the 100 route which will take us about 4 to 6 hours to the Sable Mountain Lodge. If the road conditions aren’t favorable, we would have to drive via Morogoro to the Sable Mountain Lodge and take 7 hours or and more. The lodge is situated in Beho Beho Hills just 12 Km from the park’s gate and surrounded by a dense brachystegia forest. Dinner and the overnight stay will be at the lodge.

After breakfast, depart for a full day boat safari exploring the Rufiji River and the Reserve’s lakes in an open-sided, canvas-roofed boat. The Selous is one of the very few game reserves in Africa where you can view game from the water, and after the dust and bumpy roads of a game drive, there’s nothing more relaxing than drifting along the river watching the wildlife. Boat safaris are the ideal way of enjoying the stunning scenery of the Rufiji River with its many hippos, crocodiles and beautiful birdlife and a beautiful sunset as the day ends.

After breakfast, depart for a full day game drive within the vast reserve with packed lunch. Selous Game Reserve has the finest unspoiled virgin bush, uninhabited and little touched by human interference. We explore the wilderness in the biggest game reserve in Africa and view diverse wildlife which includes lion, giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, elephant, wild dog and so much more.

After breakfast we drive back to Dar es Salaam with packed lunch and dropped off at Sea Cliff Hotel for overnight stay.
