Accountant & expeditions coordinator

JOB SUMMARY:

Accounting duties, plans, implements and monitors all transport services for the organisation.


JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Prepare and maintain stationery office supplies and reconcile the same
  • Prepare and maintain a budget for the company and prepare regular budget reports
  • Update and maintain a fixed assets register including asset depreciation for the company
  • Maintain and update petty cash register
  • Assist in managing debtors & creditors and ageing debtors efficiently
  • Reconcile banks, cashbooks, customers and supplier accounts
  • Liaise with external auditor;
  • Prepare and update monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts
  • Ensure updated records are kept for all financial transactions including general ledger reconciliation and preparation of trial Balance.
  • Issuing Imprest to drivers                  
  • Liaises with E.A Branch offices to find out the allocation of Drivers.                
  • Sources for transport hire vehicles for the company                      
  • Keeps detailed records of the fuel consumption of all vehicles under the organisation.
  • Allocates drivers and vehicles for tours and safaris in Uganda.             
  • Prepares and maintains insurance and licences for all vehicles under the company’s jurisdiction.           
  • Prepares budgets for drivers and vehicles & mountain crew.
  • Keeps a record of mountain crew, guides, cooks and porters.             
  • Monitors performance of drivers and mountain crew.                    
  • Gives a detailed report of all clients on safari to both management & Agents and analyse feedback.

Required Skills & knowledge:

  • 3Years in an accounting environment, preferably an accounting firm
  • Computer literacy with sound knowledge and understanding of MS Office suite
  • Exposure to Pastel or other accounting software an added advantage
  • 3Years in an administrative position
  • Clean Driving Licence of a minimum 4 years.
  • Knowledge of Fleet management
  • Basic bookkeeping
  • Mechanical Knowledge
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
