We leave Kampala by 07:00am and drive to the south western Uganda. Enroute stop over at the Equator then continue to Mbarara for a lunch break at Igongo cultural centre. This is a scenic journey driving through the rolling landscape hills and terraced farmlands. We also make a stop for a tea farm visit to learn about this cash crop and how its harvested and processed before proceeding to Kyaninga Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Semliki Wildlife Reserve is a beautiful, low-lying reserve cradled in a lush valley of rolling savannah grasslands and acacia-combretum forests with bordering rivers such as Wasa and Muzizi. On the game drive, we might spot some elephants, buffalos, and leopard. Also present are many herbivores, such as bushbucks, waterbucks, bushbabies, forest pygmy hippos, and antelopes.

Lake Albert lies close to the reserve and can be accessed for birdwatching and boating activities. Dinner and overnight stay will be as the previous day.

After breakfast we drive to the northern section of Queen for a brief game viewing. Queen Elizabeth is Uganda’s most popular savannah reserve and has the widest variety of wildlife of any Ugandan park. The variety of habitats includes grassland savannah, forests, wetlands and lakes. This provides the setting for an extensive range of large mammals and primates.

We have lunch at Mweya Safari Lodge then go for a boat cruise on Kazinga Channel which takes about 2hours. The water joins 2 lakes Edward and George and is filled with hippos, buffalos and elephants at the shores. After the cruise we drive back to Mweya Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Today we start with an early morning game drive within the amazing QENP Kasenyi area, look out for the big 5 and other mammals like the Giant Forest Hog, Kobs, Hyenas, Water bucks. The area is famous for big cats because of the high population of Uganda Kobs in the area which they prey on.

We will enjoy a picnic lunch break at Lake Bunyampaka, one of atleast 10 lakes in the park. After lunch we visit the Explosion Craters; situated north of the magnificent Mweya Peninsular, these are extinct craters although a few release sulphurous smells.

The drive runs for 27km with beautiful views and plenty of wildlife to see, sights of Buffalos, Elephants. We also have a sight of the great western rift valley plus its escarpment and conclude with Lake Katwe tour, the Salt Lake to learn about the existing traditional salt mine in all of Africa. We return to the lodge for overnight stay.

After breakfast, we leave Queen and drive to Buhoma arriving in time for lunch at Mahogany Springs Lodge.

We’ll have an easy afternoon relaxing at the lodge as prepare for an exciting day tomorrow of gorilla tracking in the nearby Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

After breakfast, we proceed to the visitor’s reception at Bwindi Park for a briefing and be separated into groups based on which Gorilla trekking family we will be tracking. Then the guide will lead us through the gorilla paths in the thick Bwindi Impenetrable rain forests searching for the giant mountain Gorillas. The trek takes 2-8 hours depending on where we find the Mountain Gorillas and once they are found, we spend an hour observing these beautiful primates as they feed, play around, groom and communicate among themselves. Do not forget to take photos and videos of your time with the primates.

After the trek we drive to the southern section of Queen Elizabeth National Park called Ishasha and check in at Ishasha Wilderness Camp.

This day opens up so many opportunities for game lovers. We have an early breakfast then head into the jungle to search of wildlife including Elephants, herds of Buffaloes and the tree climbing lions which are the main attraction of Ishasha. Lions naturally spend most of their time on the ground but the ones in the Ishasha sector deviate from the norm. They spend most of their day on top of trees.

This park is also a birders paradise rewarding guests with so many rare species. Lunch at Lodge and afternoon game drives to increase our chances of spotting wildlife. Dinner and overnight Ishasha Wilderness Camp.

After an early breakfast we check out and drive to Entebbe with a stopover for lunch. We arrive late in the afternoon and are transferred to the airport for evening departure.
